Hello All,

I'm interested in crafting either a wooden or ceramic bucket for the purposes of healing. Are there any particular craft styles/methods I can adhere to or materials I can use that correspond to the purpose? Healing of Pain, Worry, Confusion, Despair, Fear, etc would be common aliments that need to be healed.

Are there any patterns or artwork styles I can use to adorn my magic bucket, could I encrust it with gems and whatnot?

Finally what's the best way to make it waterproof and easily cleanable?

I would buy something from a charity shop or wherever and paint a few symbols on it in ceramic paint from hobbycraft. Grin  But then I'm not at all good at making.  If you are then of course it'd be great to make your own.  Supposedly you can use DAS clay, and varnish it to make it waterproof.

The awen just got to me and suggested that you harvest willow withies and weave a basket then line it with clay you collect yourself. All possible in our region.

Hi Kiel,
Sorry to get back a bit late on this one ,but I only rejoined a couple of days ago!
Anyway, if you are making a wooden bucket then the wood will naturally expand when wet to seal all of the joints, as long as the gaps aren't too large. This, however, will not stop the wood rotting quite quickly. The best method is to treat the wood with Brewer's Pitch. This seals the wood and prevents water penetration and the seeping of flavours or smells from the wood. This is essential if you are using certain woods that, although not harmful, may give a strong taste to the contents.
Hope this helps.
Blessings
