Instagram has launched a new feature that allows users to create customized “Add Yours” templates with GIFs, images, and text for their Stories. This feature lets followers participate by adding their own contributions to the template.
To create an Add Yours template, users can start uploading a Story and add elements like a GIF, custom text, or an image from the gallery. Then, they can tap on the “Add Yours Templates” sticker and select which elements they want to pin. While users who share the template can’t change the selected elements, they can add to it.
This new feature is being rolled out globally starting today.
These custom templates are an interactive addition to the Add Yours sticker, which was launched in 2021 and allowed users to respond to prompts from other users by posting on their Stories. Now, users can take an Add Yours prompt and add their own spin to it, encouraging more creative expression and collaboration. Instagram also introduced a “template browser” for Reels in July, enabling users to discover and customize pre-made templates to add to their videos.
In other recent news, the photo-sharing app has released its generative AI-powered background editing tool in the U.S., giving users the ability to change their background with prompts.
