In Las Vegas, for its AWS re:Invent event, Amazon Web Services presented several announcements and unveilings in response to increasing competition for cloud providers to meet the rise of AI. CEO Adam Selipsky’s keynote emphasized AWS’s position as a leading cloud provider, deploying AI tools to maintain its status. Over the next few days, TechCrunch will provide coverage and updates from the event, including Amazon’s new AI-powered chatbot, Amazon Q, AI tools and services, and Amazon S3 Express One Zone, a new tier for S3. The company also introduced new thin client virtual desktop environment devices and a palm-scanning identity service called Amazon One Enterprise. These announcements and more are Amazon’s direct response to the growing competition for cloud providers.
